Yes it's four years old, but in case it helps, and in case anyone else wants to know: Wine (www.winehq.org) can be used on Mac to run FFVII, though fairly difficult to use standalone IMO. The original port was pretty difficult (granted you didn't do the peninsula of power). And this game isn't very challenging until you hit the bosses, in which the difficulty spikes absurdly. 4/5 would recommend to the hardcore final fantasy fans, casual players I would suggest take a stab at 3, 4, or 6.
